Finishing it French

I finished up this cute green drape-y top that I had lying around to hit the club with on Saturday night. I sort of got our of finishing it because of all the French seaming and something else came along. Anyway, the shirt definitely looked great at the club and attracted more than enough attention!

So now that I’ve gotten one UFP down, there are several more to go.

A Brave New World!

Today begins a new project of completion for me. I will no longer be a victim of UFPs! As a sewing enthusiest and artist I suck at actually finishing projects. I love cutting out projects, working on them, etc. but the more time I spend with a single project the more likely I am to be inspired to start four others, and the cycle never stops. I have numerous unfinished projects (UFPs).

As a new blogger I am going to document my list of UFPs and finish them. As a journalist and procrastinator, I find deadlines to be very motivating. And as proof I’ll post photos! (no pudding sorry!)

Once I work through the stack of UFPs, last count to be about 9, before New Year’s, I will continue to document my progress as a seamstress and try projects like SWAP (Sewing with a Purpose), online contests, fitting, pattern drafting, and difficult techniques to get my butt away from my comfort zone! I plan to experiement! Whee!

troubleshooting photos

Seems that I can’t get my creations to show so I’ve been trying to learn a few things, but around my teaching schedule. I thought for sure I would have time this summer to get to it, but alas, best laid plans I’ve spent most of my sewing time creating curtians for extra income to pay for my new Huskvarnia Designer SE! My big summer slurge rather than traveling this year. I am really sick of curtains, by the way. I made them for two different houses and I have 2 more to go before school starts in two weeks. I also wanted to make new work clothes as stash busters, so I am going to have to do some boot camp style sewing to get it in gear. That or make sure I actually schedule more time to sew in the first few months of the semester before things get really hectic. We’ll see how that works since it goes back to the previously mentioned problem with plans =)

I’ve been sewing,

but not posting! My camera has been without its memory card for a bit because my laptop had it while it was getting fixed. I’ll be getting more in the habit of posting in the near future. I also hope to learn more on how to post as my photos of my green shirt seem to have disappeared. I’m going to keep trying! Never hurts to learn, right? I tell my students that all the time, but now its my turn.
